In search of a sound heavy and alternative, mixing Metal and old Hardcore
(grindcore), with Brazilian influences, the Choke was formed in August of
1998. Composed for 4 experienced musicians, always bringing the proposal of
express the discontent and intolerance against the long-suffering life that
lead many persons in Brazil and in the America Latin, in general, beyond the
traditional racial and social conflicts, the Choke conquered crowds of
followers which way the band passed. On the other hand, the Choke knows that
here in Brazil they good things exist also, dentre you amaze them of that
country, the band detaches in its compositions, characteristics of our
folklore, cultural wealth and etnia! With Spanish and British language, the
song of that band opened horizons for presentations in diverse part of the
world. When they began, they threw a demo covers, directing the disclosure
for the international market, obtaining with that, great critics of vehicles
specialized of the overseas, causing interest of distribution of the stuff
in diverse countries, as: Argentine (Hurling Metal Records and Pinhead
Rec.), Bolivia (Demon Records), Paraguay (Covenant Productions) and France
(Vendredi 13). Many compilations containing music of the Choke were thrown
by Brazil, Argentina and Turkey, always joined with big bands of the world
setting, as Venom, Krisiun, Masacre,
Agathocles, Cripple Bastards. And Choke play with great and famous band
world Scene like : Ratos de Porão,Okoto, Jason (Brazil), Disgorge
(U.S.A), Pandemia (Czech Republic), Slow Agony, Funeral (Paraguay) All this
fortress battles, yielded to the Choke 5 tours in 4 countries from the South
America and a by Brazil, doing with that achieved the mark of 4.000 copies,
by of a grossly independent
distribution, the sales of its split compact disk.
The year of 2003 comes mark the conquest of more a big pace for the band,
after sign an I hire artistic with the MNF, the band prepared a super-output
for "Slum Radio", containing 18 streaks, being the opening, a video clip, to to be seen in
computers, containing images from the band in several countries of the world
and production with the master Joao Gordo, that him made responsible for
the
output. He is worth he detach the participation of Doze, singer of the
Pavilhao 9 and from the famous Cheering Organized of the Athletic Club
Paranaense. (Os Fanáticos).
